The colour green represents abundance, renewal, growth and nature. Green is healing colour that gives healing energy to the heart. Therefore the students who represent our Green House express unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion. |
The yellow colour represents happiness, clarity, fulfilment, abundance and self confidence. This colour always stands for wisdom and intellect throughout the ages. Therefore those who represent our Yellow House are aided with logic, memory, will power and concentration. |
The colour red represents power, energy, vitality, dominance, action, assertion, creation, survival and passion. Therefore those who represent our Red House they are always ready to take action on a new goal or project that one that had been putting off. |
The colour blue represents deep colour , often associated with stability, honesty, truth and tranquillity. Therefore those who represent our Blue House they have universal associations and their own perception of the world, how it appears to be. |
Health and wellness club of our school favourably influence the habits , attitude and knowledge relating to an individual and community. This club modify the students behaviour towards the attainment of optimum health. Physical education caters to provide physical fitness which is an important component of wellness. Physical education supplement the activities of the children by providing opportunities for physical exercise which activates pituitary gland and hypothalamus secreting 'feel good' hormones.
The nature club aims at inculcating an appreciation of nature among students and encouraging them to participate in a variety of conservation initiatives . Its efforts include inviting leading environmentalists to the school to talk to students and sensitize them to the opportunities and challenges in addressing environmental issues, organizing an annual tree planting day and participating in important nature - oriented programmes. Students also work on recycling waste and reduction of consumption on campus by recycling paper and providing support to the local rag pickers of Barrackpore.
The objective of this club is to promote the literary seal amongst the students. The activities undertaken by the members of the club would encompass the promotion of student's debate. Work closely with members of staff regarding the organization of literature competitions and festivals, develop listening, speaking and writing skills, to learn to be a part of group discussions, extempore speech, debate etc.
The science club helps students to acquire basic knowledge of science. To develop a scientific way of learning, to develop awareness of and concern for scientific issues in personal , social , environmental and technological contexts. The students are taught the different concepts of science through interesting activities like Magic milk colour explosion, making crystals, turning grapes into raisins, coffee can ice- cream etc.
There will be two unit tests and two main examinations during the year. Besides these, surprise class tests are frequently taken. Promotion to the next class is made on the results of these examinations. After each term progress report cards will be given. The parents or guardians must sign the record copy and answer scripts doing PTA meetings. If the children are sick, they should never be allowed to send school for the sake of examination. No pupil will be promoted to the next class if the attendance during the year is below 75%. Non-academic performance of a student during the year is also taken into account in determining promotion. Failure to appear / submit any of the assessments / assignments can seriously affect a student's promotion. There is no provision for supplementary test / exam of students who remain absent during any test /exam.
