Examination & Promotion
There are two unit tests and two main examinations during the year, with surprise class tests in between. Promotion rests on overall performance, and reports are shared with parents term by term.
How assessment works
- Surprise class tests may be taken frequently through the year.
- Promotion to the next class is based on the results of all examinations and assessments.
- Non-academic performance during the year is also taken into account.
- After each term, progress report cards are issued. Parents and guardians sign the record copy and the answer scripts at the PTA meeting.
Attendance & absence
- Attendance below 75% across the year will result in non-promotion.
- A child who is unwell should never be sent to school for the sake of an examination.
- There is no provision for supplementary tests or examinations for a student absent during any test or exam.
- Failure to appear for, or submit, any assessment or assignment can seriously affect promotion.
